Yes it will be like starting over. I know it because I had not ran since 3/12th and just started last week; stick to it, follow it and you'll do fine.

Julie E., I knew about gun start time versus chip time, but I figured my Garmin being pushed "on" at the same time I crossed the start mat and then "off" at the same time I crossed the finish mat would bring me about the same time. Apparently this race had some timing issues, although I don't know all the details I know that the clock was malfunctioning and wasn't even on when I went through the gate and that about a half a dozen people's times were incorrect. It was a small race - 200 or so people.
