Experiencing a somewhat delayed runner's high (OK, I did walk a 10K tonight), I thought I'd put my energy to good use. I swear, I better be able to walk tomorrow. Danced to my "running mix" playlist, and I'm totally ready for bed.

Awesome. A simple set of Sun Salutations with one-leg Downward Dog variations followed by Warrior I & Warrior II combined with Triangle poses. A little shaky with one-leg Downward Dog and Triangle, but my arms feel stronger.

@Linna, it's always the same series of poses. Yoga is great, and I thought it was really important for a quick session after tonight's 10K walk. I try and incorporate Yoga into my program, but a little bit is better than nothing.

Sweaty, and oh so satisfying. Throughout this workout, my legs felt incredibly strong. I don't know why, but I can't complain. Maybe it's the swimming from earlier? Or the mini Yoga sessions? Whatever it is, I hope it sticks around.

@Sandra, tonight's sleep is all about recovery. I'm waking up super early tomorrow to get a head start to Friday including a mini Yoga session to jumpstart my morning! Let's see if I can pull it off.

First swimming workout, ever! I started my swim workout with a few warmups including making large circles with my legs while standing (in both directions, two sets). I also swam a full lap, and it was definitely harder than I thought.

I started swimming 2 years ago. Trust me, it gets easier. One lap at at time, you will build up your endurance and lung capacity. Great job on getting in the water and trying something new.

@Alicyn, swimming is a new workout to me. I think I'm going to google some warmup exercises other than the circles I can do in the pool. Actually, I thought the circle warmup would be "easier" but I learned that my right leg is definitely the dominate one.

@Jessica, it's 85ºF here currently... and even though the sun is set, you can still feel a slight muggy-ness in the air. Sweaty? Always good. Except there's been an occasional breeze throughout the day.

Walking is so,... different compared to running. I'm used to cruising along at a 13min/mile, except tonight my pace improved dramatically from earlier this week. My legs felt a lot stronger, and I pushed a bit harder - plus it paid off!

Great walk Cristina! And nice job on the pace. Soon you'll be power walking at a 13 min pace. It just takes a little practice. I pass runners sometimes on the trails around me when I go power walking :)

A simple practice of Sun Salutations mixed with Warrior I & Warrior II plus Triangle. Of course one-leg Downward Dog (my hips feel tight) and Butterfly to open my hips a bit more. Added some Boat for a mini abs workout.

I had to look up Butterfly pose because I wasn't sure what it was. But now that I see it, I know it. I'm just used to hearing it in Sanskrit though. lol

@Christie, it's a great hip opener. I sometimes "flutter" my legs during Butterfly to stretch out a bit more. I typically have tight hips, and I always find this stretch to open up things a bit more.

@Alicyn, thank you! I sometimes find simple sets just as effective as longer sets. I don't practice Yoga these days for 90min (it just isn't realistic), but I try and practice at least once a week.

Another runner bites the dust. Yes, I quit running permanently. Everything about tonight's workout felt different. Running is so hardcore, but walking wasn't as intense, but that's not to say it can't be challenging. I want to improve my pace.

Still a decent pace for a walk. Sorry about the whole non-running thing. But you gotta do what's best for you. Hopefully, you'll find another activity you can fall in love with.

Another runner bites the dust. Yes, I quit running. Instead, my workout program will consist of walking, Yoga, weights, swimming and other cardio workouts including fitness DVD's. I value my health, but not at the point of injury.

So smart to listen to your body. There are tons of alternatives now. No need to do something that is going to injure you!

When I swim laps I swim in sets of 5. 5 easy for warmup, 5 a little harder, and 5 cool down. You can always do more sets too. Good luck!
