Another runner bites the dust. Yes, I quit running permanently. Everything about tonight's workout felt different. Running is so hardcore, but walking wasn't as intense, but that's not to say it can't be challenging. I want to improve my pace.

Still a decent pace for a walk. Sorry about the whole non-running thing. But you gotta do what's best for you. Hopefully, you'll find another activity you can fall in love with.

@Christie, decent... but I honestly thought I could go faster. I think I'm still in limbo in my head of "well I did it before" with running, but I honestly shouldn't. I have since my injury (tendonitis of the hip, patella and foot), but it's too risky. Do I want a stress fracture? No.. of course not.

Way to go Cristina. Sometimes walking is so relaxing. Way to push it with the pace.

@Jessica, tonight's pace is a starting point. I'm not sure what my walking pace with Garmin is, but I swear Nike+ lied! However, this is a start and I'm thinking of trying swimming tomorrow before work.

Great walk Cristina! You can get a great workout with power walking. Norah and I can walk at 13 and 12 minute pace now and get just as great of a cardiovascular workout. You have to listen to your body. There are such great alternatives for you. I know it must be hard for you, but you'll find your new niche!

Maybe try incorporating intervals, either timed or by milestone? I sometimes throw those in to shake up a walk.

@Alicyn and @Pubsgal, a power walk is no joke!

Nice walk, Cristina! Good luck with the swimming if you move in that direction.

@Kenya, oh I've started swimming! Love it. It's different than what I've done before, but different is good! I'm going to google some swim warmup exercises because I need some ideas!
