Thanks giselle! Knee's feeling it a little today, think I'll just have to take it easy leading up to half marathon and think long term rather than busting it up just for one event. Was talking to a guy at work who used to play pro rugby, and he thinks my knee injury could be bruised meniscus which does take a long time to heal. I more recently remember corking my knee when I stepped in a pot hole in the bush while orienteering. It must've taken a while to flare up. =(

Craig, saw this post on my Electric Miles app when I clicked on Nearby Entries! I have similar niggles with my knees! I don't run as fast as you, and I've had to slow down on my long runs due to the niggles. My tactic is slowing down particularly on the long runs, paying attention to my form, making sure I run tall/straight/upright, increase my cadence, and ice my knees if I go longer than 12kms. I've also started taking glucosamine tablets, just in case. Doing all of this have helped me somewhat.

Hey thanks for that! Def worth a try. What's the glucosamine meant to do?

Apparently, it's good for recovery, joint flexibility and mobility. It's preventative measures on my part! I've done some reading on runners world about it, and runners do use it quite a bit for this purpose. I figure every little bit helps!
