My serious lack of miles this week is really starting to annoy me. Compound that with the fact that I most likely won't play any soccer at all this week and you have one very grumpy Cory. My foot is still bruised from where that kid stomped on it, but I'm fairly sure I can run. However having any time to this week before the 5K Saturday morning is not gonna be possible at this point. So it would appear that Saturday I'll use my shiny new racing flats for the first time ever. Sigh. I really hope this works out for the best, cause if not I'm gonna be very cranky the rest of the day Saturday. And we only have about 152628281762616 things to do that day.

Well have a great 5k! Is there margaritas afterwards since its Cinco De Mayo? I hope so!

That's an excellent question. It's for the Thibodaux Firemans fair and it's their first one do I have no idea.

why do you have to do the run in your new race flats? I am worried that you might hurt yourself....Can you run in the shoes you are wearing now and not risk it? I know I am not a pro so feel free to laugh at my comment, I kind of am for even sticking my nose in ... I guess I am just worried you would stress it out worse. I want to go beat that kid up lol

Ditto what Gozling said. New shoes you haven't worn in are not a good idea. Trust us we are women who have worn shoes that have hurt our feet because they looked good and suffered the consequences.

Hahahahhahaha. Thanks ladies. I'm prolly gonna wear them and just take it easy in them. Of course that means a low-8 mile. Maybe high 7's. Who knows? I will agree that running a race in shoes I haven't actually run in yet is prolly not the best idea in the whole world, but then again neither was letting myself get fat and lazy in the first place.

I think what I'll most likely do is get out there early Saturday morning and run a mile or two in my racers to see how they feel and then decide which ones I'm gonna use for the race.
