Nice job! You're already a real runner, girl :). My last long-ish run before my shin splints was a little over 7 miles. It rained the whole time and I was soaked to the bone! LOVED it!

I use the runs as therapy. I write the names of people, issues, etc. that may be weighing on me on the bottom of my shoes and then focus on beating them out at the beginning of the run... tends to allow me to clear my head and focus on more pleasant things there on out. ;-)

You guys are super awesome! Those were all great suggestions and thank you so much for taking the time for sharing them with me. I will be taking it all with me on my future runs and hope I can repay the favor some day:)

In my spare time I write poetry and do stand up comedy (albeit at a very amateur level). I work out ideas and material on runs, and find time flies by.

One thing I learned when I bring scout with me running... I usually or rarely keep track of time-- between the 4 poops and 9 pees lol... i figure I have blown it! Sometimes I am ahead of the game and keep track of minutes lost that way but its too much of a pain for me! :P Nice job on getting out there and OF COURSE I love that it was a doggie day!!!

my fiance is a dog trainer and our dog runs really well on a leash and only slows down when a car makes him nervous (usually tractor trailers). it is possible to train them that once the leash goes on, they're in work mode, but don't ask me how Brian got our dog to get there!

      Nice Job:

Scout's nickname is "Sniffy McSniffer" LOL... though she only does it when I tell her it is play time. I have to say she is really good about not doing it while on a leash. Way to get out there and do something!!!!

I've been there and it is a confidence hit but remember that after a crappy session your next run is almost always a good one.
