good Long Run 4.35 mi 00:42 09:34 pace

I was supposed to do 5 but it was 97 degrees and 85% humidity out and I started late (9am). I also ran my old 2.25 mile course...first time since getting the big D. I wasn't prepared...to few water stops. Felt light headed but could have been the heat.
Had a BS# 131 before - PB toast and off I went.
After a 87. I now know that after 4 miles...my sugar starts to fall.
I'm learning!!! Yeah! :-)
Ate some more food and 3 hours later...my BS# 96!!!!
WHO CAN TYPE AWESOME??????
Today, I have only taken 2 units of my humalog (short acting insulin)
I need a GOLD STAR!

    Nice Job:

I CAN TYPE AWESOME! YOU'RE AWESOME! Running 4 miles in those conditions is tough at the best of times let alone while learning to manage your blood sugar. Sounds like you are totally on this.

Check with your doc if you can have a sports drink while running. It may help but I have no idea if it is a bad idea with Diabetes. I know that without it has no negative effects and does not spike blood sugar levels.

    Great Performance:

Super run Corey - it sounds like you are getting the BS dialed in. Really impressive in those hot/humid weather conditions - I would certainly have bowed out in those temps!

A great run. Be careful not to punish too much your body under the harsh weather condition.

Thanks everyone! :-) I was very proud of my run, while a bit disappointed as well with no going the full 5...but I'll take in anyways!
