Well...here's the deal. Despite my body's protestations, I'm going to achieve 10,000 lifetime running miles this year if it kills me. Going to ride a lot, too.

  2. RUN
    alright Soggy! 3 mi 00:26 08:30 pace

Very rainy, so left the dog at home. Ran around local park. Had some trouble breathing today. Hammy a bit sore (was sore after Tuesday's 4-miler). 170 miles shy of 10,000.

  3. RUN
    good Centennial Trail, w/Apollo 4 mi 00:36 08:52 pace

I did this same 4-miler two weeks ago (in nearly the same time), and this one felt much easier. My fitness is very slowly returning. Still feeling a dull ache where my hamstring and glute come toge... read more

  4. RUN
good Morningside Park, solo 3 mi 00:25 08:23 pace

Left the pooch at home for this one. Beautiful day (sun, 63°, no wind!) Pretty decent run. Now 177 miles away from 10,000.

  5. RUN
    alright Morningside Neighborhood w/Ap... 3 mi 00:28 09:25 pace

Another windy day. Was planning on running laps around the flat park close to our house, but wasn't able to*, so had to run my hilly walking course (which my hamstring isn't too fond of.)... read more

alright First outdoor ride in months.... 16.1 mi 00:58 16.6mph pace

I'm LONG overdue to ride outdoors. Finally made it today. Went out and back on the Centennial Trail (from Barker, heading East & back). Was greeted with a nice tailwind on the way out and ... read more

  7. RUN
alright Windy, hilly and warm 3 mi 00:28 09:13 pace

Pushing the pace yesterday made this one harder, but running my hilly course on a warm and very windy day made it harder. Even felt my hamstring today, especially where it ties into my glute muscle... read more

  8. RUN
alright Morningside Park, solo 3 mi 00:25 08:17 pace

Spring is full-on this week. Sunny & 65°f. Pushed this one a little too hard, given my current fitness level (and weight). Was in oxygen debt the last two miles. Should be running about a minut... read more

  9. RUN
    alright Morningside neighborhood, w/A... 3 mi 00:28 09:16 pace

Decided not to run laps in the park today since there were many people there walking their dogs (way too distracting for Apollo). So we ran my walking route, which is quite hilly (seems much more s... read more

  10. RUN
    alright Centennial Trail w/Apollo 4 mi 00:36 08:55 pace

Sunny, 52°, breezy. Might've been a bit early to bump it to 4 miles, but I survived. Left knee hurt during first mile, then again in last mile. Hammy was noticeable, but not painful. Felt pret... read more

  11. RUN
alright Morningside Park, solo 2 mi 00:16 08:10 pace

I can tell how heavy & out of shape I am. This one felt hard. 2nd mile was 7:54 and felt tough. Hamstring has been sore today. Didn't feel it much during the run. Maybe the aggressive stre... read more

  12. RUN
    good Morningside Park w/Apollo 3 mi 00:27 08:59 pace

Decided to add a mile today. Felt pretty good. The dog wanted no part of it, though. Had to tug his leash more than a few times.
I wouldn't recommend adding 25-30 lbs. of bodyweight when not r... read more

  13. RUN
good Morningside Park, solo 2 mi 00:17 08:32 pace

Windy, but partly sunny & mid-50s. Natalie took the dog for a run, so I ran solo. Thought about going further, but knew it would be best to keep it short for now. I'm embarking on a very a... read more

    good Indoor trainer 00:30

Carbon-copy (remember those?) of yesterday afternoon's spin. Rode the trainer while watching March Madness. Kept it easy, but worked up a decent sweat.

Easy spin while watching March Madness. First time in the saddle since last October!

  16. RUN
    alright Morningside Park, w/Apollo 2 mi 00:19 09:20 pace

More of the same (now 203 miles until 10,000). Right hamstring still tight & sore. Going to make a major effort to stretch it out and roll it with the stick on a daily basis. Probably need deep... read more

alright Park run with Apollo 2 mi 00:19 09:17 pace

Got the equally out-of-shape dog out for a run today.

  18. RUN
    alright Wow. 1 mi 00:08:22 08:22 pace

Haven't run a step since Dec. 3rd, and I'm still injured (and quite a bit heavier), but I've decided that I'm going to make a "run" at 10,000 career miles this year. I... read more

Yeah, and what's funny about that is I've already totaled more running miles today than I've cycled so far this year. I would have picked something besides "cyclist," but "old fat ass" wasn't listed.

Ohhh, you're too hard on yourself. You're not considered old until 45 at least! What is that? 47? Hmmm. Well.... yeah. (Just kidding. you should post updated flexin' pics)

Those pics would be either disturbing, disappointing or both. Arms, shoulders, chest...fairly buff. Abs? Buried like an ex-mistress at the bottom of the bay. Perhaps I've said too much.
