Thanks Jorie. I've recorded 11 so far. I've sent Chris a few more he may or may not play, plus I have a few I've not yet sent him. Glad you enjoy them. I love making them!

Nice and easy. Keeping it slow the rest of the week.

Colin ran 10 miles in 1 hour and 18 mins alrightCentennial Trail - Snohomish, WA – 10 mi / 01:18 07:48 pace
39:51 out (7:58 pace), 38:10 back (7:38 pace). Didn't feel as peppy as I did on Saturday, but not a bad run. The best part was seeing a hottie cycling on the trail. She happened to be my wife, who rode as I ran. ;-)
-
Sounds like a peppy run to me! Nice job!

Nice work - you must be in taper mode? Listened to a little Bob Marley parody called "Running" - you know anything about this. As Chris R says - you are possessed Colin. Great work - I loved it!

Thanks Brendan!

I'm not really tapering yet, but since I have a half on Sunday, I'm structuring my training a little differently this week. I'm going to run back-to-back halves to simulate marathon fatigue (that's the plan, anyway). Then next week I'll be running my first 20-miler in training.

Colin ran 8 miles in 1 hour and 4 mins and 6 secs greatMill Creek, Loop "B" – 8 mi / 01:04 08:00 pace
W/Mill Creek Running Club (ran w/Mike) at roughly marathon pace. Felt very good! Could have run much faster and/or much farther. Legs felt snappy. Kind of surprising, since this is my highest weekly mileage (so far). Perfect weather - 42, cloudy.
-
Nice job on your weekly mileage! You logged a lot of miles. I love runs that feel really good!

Colin, in looking at your training, you are definitely ready to move up in mileage if you so desire. You have a great base and have been very consistent. Don't forget the quality stuff and you'll rock it! Awesome job man.

Thanks Don! I still do a little quality every week (for me, anyway), but I am focusing pretty much on stretching out the distance (and weekly mileage). I'm really itching to run the marathon & almost wish I had picked an earlier one!

I'm thinking about running my own half mary next Saturday, then Mercer Island on Sunday, just to tire out my legs ahead of time (I'm training through M.I., so time isn't important). It might be a good way to get a feel for the fatigue late in the marathon. -
Great work Colin!

Colin ran 4 miles in 35 mins alrightPioneer Trails – 4 mi / 00:35 08:46 pace
Not much to say here. Just a typical slow recovery run. I guess I could say that the only time I wished I weighed more are on days with winds as gusty as they were today!
-
LOL, that bad, huh?
do the trails not have tree cover?
I'm pretty slight, at 5'11" and 146...but the gusts almost stopped me in my tracks a couple of times! Chris, the "trails" are actually paved trails in a residential area. There's some tree (& house) cover, but sometimes there was a "wind tunnel" effect!

Heard the ice bath chronicles (Washington St edition) this morning. "Was that 15 minutes, no it was 15 sec" - great stuff. You are getting some good quality air time brother.

Colin ran 5 miles in 43 mins alrightPioneer Trails + 118th loop – 5 mi / 00:43 08:37 pace
Slow & easy (just getting in the miles). Nasty weather - rain & wind! Chest a little tight, but everything else felt fine.
-
Yeah not a nice day out..Great job getting out there.

Thanks! Tomorrow may not be much nicer. Oh well - we're due!

That does not sound like fun but you cannot predict the weather. I know this summer I will need to practice running in bad weather but for now I still bring it indoors. Great job getting out there and hope weather gets better.
