It went like it was supposed to. Went out and intentionally underfuled by quite a lot. It feels pretty horrible but is great training every once in a while.

These runs suck but they are supposed to be good for you. Apparently your body has kind of a super charged recovery response.

I think they are good for your training, not necessarily good for your body, although you don't see many old fat people, they usually thin as a rail. there is something to be said for calorie restriction.

RUN
alright Big B 5K 3.09 mi 00:31 10:04 pace
Increasingly I'm not sure tapering is the greatest approach for me. I seem to start feeling lethargic and stiff at anything much less than 50 miles a week.
-
tapering flu, maybe experiment this summer with it. if i could only get to 50 miles a week, haha

It may sound strange but my physical experience is that the joints in my legs and hips become too relaxed. It's almost as if maintaining a higher mileage, the regular impact, keeps them nice and sound like good welds on a structure or perfectly tightened bolts on a vehicle. There must be a taper zone where either too much or too little is no good and seemingly for me I'd say the floor is around 45 or 50.
