I ran a 9:23 mile! Rock on! Totally a PR for me -- by several minutes! All I ran was a mile, figured I'd try to make it fast. Wound up doing about 30 sec / 30 sec run / walk.

The only thing I did different was drop my walking time from a minute to thirty seconds. Except for the last couple hundred yards where I was really pushing to get a good time, I ran the rest of it at my normal pace.

Which makes me think maybe I am running too fast normally? I'm not trying for a 9.5 minute pace for the half marathon. I'd be happy with a 15 minute pace. Or a 16 minute pace.

Maybe my long run this Saturday I'll try and go really slow (on the running bits) and see if I don't last longer.

    A few weeks ago, I made the transition from walk/run/walk/run to running the whole time. I found it to be much easier than going back and forth. Going back and forth from running to walking kept me from ever hitting my groove.
