Today was supposed to be my long run day. I was supposed to run 6 miles. After barely being able to pull myself out of bed, I hit the trail bright and early at 10:30am. Ugh... I *really* did not want to go. Had to force myself to get out there.

Instead of running 6 miles, I cut it short and did 3 miles. I managed to run-walk almost the entire way (something I don't normally do -- I usually wind up walking a lot more after the turnaround). I run in 48 minutes flat, which is a 16 minute mile pace, but if I had to do one more mile it would not have been at that pace.

I am worried about the Disney Half Marathon in January. I am not making progress like I feel I should. I need to be able to do the entire race at a 16 minute pace (or better) or risk getting cut. My only goal at the race was to finish -- but I don't think I am on track to even do that.

    Hang in there! You still have time. Are there any training groups in your area that may be able to help? I just joined the Galloway group in Orlando, and so far it seems to be great!

    I too suggest joining a training group. It'll help. Not that I know because I am on the fast track to Slackerville. But I have a good excuse.
