Thank you - it's feeling better today (that said it was feeling better on Sunday, but clicking the mouse on Monday at the office made it bad again). Hopefully tonight's planned swim doesn't aggravate it - can't run, can't ride, need to swim!

Hi Claudia, the group down at the Giant store in Canning Vale isn't run by the store themselves. There are some loyal bikers that start there every Saturdays at 6:30am. I believe there are normally 3 groups, each group to cater everyones ability. Yesterday the numbers dropped quite a bit, I'm guessing due to the heat. I'll see I can find someone within the group to get you started next time I see them :)

Nice swim set Claudia. I'm strictly a breathe every 4 strokes person. I'm terrible at bilateral breathing and every 2 strokes is too often for me. Well done today.

That's a good swim! I find breathing every 2 tends to force me to slow down my stroke rate so I don't breath too often, if that makes sense. That being said, during open water swims I seem to breath on 2 - 2 - 3 for some reason. Also depends if there are waves slapping me in the face.
If I was you though, I'd practice breathing on 3 or more during the longer sets as they're meant to be more of a "cruisy" pace and the training is awesome for your lungs.

I breathe every second stroke because of your reasons which makes me so reluctant to do bilateral. Keep at it! :)
