My plan called for 16 progressive with last 30 min. hard & uphill if possible. I think my plan is trying to kill me :) I settled for a steady, quite faster than I've been doing on my long runs, 16 miler with last mile fast. I made my way to Mt. Vernon to run with some of the MVRB's. Met Dave P. , Teri P. & Scott Burgess for the run. I immediately hooked up with Teri & we started while Dave stayed with Scott. We were sooo consistent it's scary! I told them I wanted to stay between 8:30-8:40 pace & I think we nailed it. Splits: 8:40, 8:40, 8:35, 8:33, 8:40, 8:29, 8:43, 8:39, 8:36,8:38, 8:38, 8:37, 8:24, 8:38, 8:25, 8:02. Felt like a long tempo-ish run...don't think I can hold that pace for another 10 miles though, cause I was DONE at the end. Scott stopped at 13 miles & Dave ran the rest with Teri & I, while Scott waited for us. If I understood him correctly, he PR'd his half marathon today which is amazing. Weather was good, but the humidity was still there. We also ended up walking a cool-down mile & ran into quite a few people that Dave & Teri knew. Great meet-up & I hope to run with Teri some more because we found out we think alike! Kindred souls!
