@Tanya, I love photography and so I enjoy carrying a camera in one hand during the races. I set it on the "Sports" setting so most don't turn out blurry. Before this race I picked up a Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS on Amazon for $149 and it was perfect! It shoots 1080P video too!

Wow, that's pretty cool. You don't mind carrying something in your hand for that long? I've been considering switching to a handheld water bottle since the belts just never fit right. I couldn't imagine carrying a camera but you got some cool and funny shots - so worth it!

Ah the 310XT. VERY fine choice & great prices! Especially if you think you'll want it for cycling in the future. And it's really smart to try it out & see what you like & don't like before investing in a 2nd one. (sorry Kim!) You may find you prefer your smart phone, or see what features you really want in the nxt one. Yea! I <3 gear!

Nice recap Chuck! Glad you were able to 'Gut it out' and finish your first marathon! Woohoo, we're marathoners! I really enjoyed all your pics and videos. I realized afterwards that I wasn't paying that much attention to what was going on around me:). Looks like you had as much fun as one can while going through pain!

Sad for the people who already bought non-refundable plane tickets and hotel rooms but I'm happy the city was smart about runners safety. I would rather see people entering races that use entrance fee money for charities not their own pockets like the R&R races do.

THat's disappointing. THe comments on the article are interesting. R&R does a half in Chicago at the end of July and they have done a great job dealing with the heat and providing proper support for the race. Surprised to hear the comments people had with bad experiences.
