If I could just remove my right heel then I would say I loved this run and felt great! The cool crisp morning with a fine mist was perfect. I saw two runners, but other than that it was a peaceful, nice Sunday morning run. I am pretty frustrated with my heel issue. :( After 6 weeks of PT, 9 weeks of stretching/icing and decreasing mileage the past 3 weeks, it is actually a little worse. Ugh. My attitude isn't really that bad. It's just that I wish I didn't have to deal with it. haha Wouldn't that be awesome if we got to pick and choose things like this?! I am going back to PT after Thanksgiving. Fortunately, once I get through the first mile or two of my runs, my heel loosens up. And it feels better through out the rest of the day than it does on the days I don't run. I can't figure this out! Oh well, one day at a time....just one day at a time. Planning for an 8 miler next weekend - aiming for the Charleston 1/2 in January!

Good run, despite the heel issue! What was your diagnosis with that heel? The only thing that has helped mine lately has been rolling the frozen water bottle on the bottom + the 2 massage therapy sessions I've been to. And just like yours, mine takes a good mile or so to loosen up -- it's more in my achilles than anything else -- and I have to stop and stretch after that first mile or it's a pretty bad ache. AND it's worse on non-run days. UGH... why are pain-free runs so hard to come by!? :/

Sorry to hear it's still hanging around. It does sound similar to my tendinitis, just in a different area of foot. My understanding is that the reason it feels worse on days after the run due to the inflammation. I was given prescription strength anti-inflammatory med today. More PT for me too, but mainly for my nagging IT band. It is a good sign that it loosens up after a few miles though. Take care of yourself. Isn't it crazy what we'll put ourselves through to run more and more miles??!?!! ;-)
