If I could just remove my right heel then I would say I loved this run and felt great! The cool crisp morning with a fine mist was perfect. I saw two runners, but other than that it was a peacefu... read more

RUN
great Wren area 4.01 mi 00:38 09:22 pace
As I crawled out of bed this morning for my usual Monday 6:00 run, I realized I won't have to do this next week! I can't believe the MCM is only 6 days away! This morning was a perfect run. Hope... read more

don't listen to Randy - every finish line is a chance to say, "there's no freakin way I'm ever doing that again" and then take a few weeks off. :)

RUN
good Wren area 9.03 mi 01:29 09:49 pace
I definitely enjoyed this one! I headed out around 9:00 A.M., and the weather was awesome. I felt really strong and didn't feel any heel tenderness/pain. Yay!

This is the shortest run I have had in quite a while. Thanks to the taper, this was a nice one!

RUN
Wren area 5.03 mi 00:48 09:26 pace
Enjoying the taper! It's so strange though. I had two days between runs, and my heel felt tighter. Rest is supposed to help, so I don't get it.

Good run to get the legs moving again after my long run. Legs felt a little heavy, but not too bad!

RUN
good Wren area 23 mi 03:57 10:17 pace
On Wednesday's run I felt sluggish. I felt the same way Thursday morning, so I skipped my 6 miler that day. I kept debating whether I should have pushed through and ran the 6. But I think taking... read more

Good run, despite the heel issue! What was your diagnosis with that heel? The only thing that has helped mine lately has been rolling the frozen water bottle on the bottom + the 2 massage therapy sessions I've been to. And just like yours, mine takes a good mile or so to loosen up -- it's more in my achilles than anything else -- and I have to stop and stretch after that first mile or it's a pretty bad ache. AND it's worse on non-run days. UGH... why are pain-free runs so hard to come by!? :/

Sorry to hear it's still hanging around. It does sound similar to my tendinitis, just in a different area of foot. My understanding is that the reason it feels worse on days after the run due to the inflammation. I was given prescription strength anti-inflammatory med today. More PT for me too, but mainly for my nagging IT band. It is a good sign that it loosens up after a few miles though. Take care of yourself. Isn't it crazy what we'll put ourselves through to run more and more miles??!?!! ;-)
