      Kristen, I do ice showers on the legs after the race, then only apply ice packs when I'm still feeling strain at the end of race day. Typically I don't find I need to do it -- like this time. I'm not sold on always having to ice. I never did it as a dancer and was never injured because I didn't. I listen to my legs. If they tell me they're inflamed, then I'll treat them. Otherwise I just try to be smart with how much stress I put them through afterward.
