Just don't think. Ride. And be alert. I think you can just get over it. I've been hit by a car and had some serious accidents that have sent me to the ER. I know fear can creep in, so I just make it a point to attack it head on and remember how much bike love there is... Wishing you well.

I know they've said it above so I won't. Having (others) said that, still do what you can to be safe. Stay off of painted and steel surfaces when wet, be especially careful when the roads first get wet, ride defensively (but not to a fault) and stay alert. Don't get too careful because an overly cautious rider can be just as dangerous or even more so. It's easy to say "just put it out of your mind" but it will take some time. You'll get there.

I know several riders who walk their bikes across some particularly bad railroad crossings. No shame in that either.

Christian I have the same problem with my 4S iPhone. I used the Strava App. For now I went out and bought a small battery backup for $5.00. I don't used the iPhone much when I am ride to look at the display. I have a bike computer but I am thinking about getting another Garmin multsport computer for my bike. I have an old Garmin 210.

I would prefer the Garmin but haven't yet done that. In the meantime, I use Strava on my iPhone 5. As Ilias said, close all other apps. Huge difference. I also go with a full charge. I am able to ride a full century (barely) with that. I also have power sticks. I carry 1 or 2 with me on the longer rides. They are cheap and they work great. I managed a 600k with my iPhone and 2 power sticks. I did have a chance to recharge the phone some at 300k.
