Does anyone else set 2 goals for a big race? 1 realistic and 1 lofty. I think I have already unofficially done this for S2N 12k. I would like to run under 50, a minimum 9:27 improvement, but I thin... read more

I've never had a must finish by goal. There may be one for Missoula though. Finish before they clear the course.

Ran the 5k in 20:10. PR for the Pt. D. course by 26s. Stayed with the leader until about 1/2 way. This one makes me excited for Sound to Narrows, which I still need to sign up for.

good Fleet Feet Tacoma + 9.25 mi 01:10 07:36 pace
Good run again. Legs felt a bit heavy. I think from my run Saturday still. Couldn't find the same speed as last week on the run home. Must keep up the long runs to stand a chance in Missoula.

good Fleet Feet Tacoma + 9.45 mi 01:10 07:24 pace
This run went pretty awesome. Finally was able to run to and from the store. As usual, took the first few miles easyish, then tried to chase down the front runners. Miles 5-9 splits were 7:07, 7:12... read more

I did not try the Hokas. I just don't think they offer what I want in shoes. It seemed that most people that tried them, liked them though.

Narrows Bridge is great, or continue out a mile to the start of the Cushman Trail in Gig Harbor. It's even marked! I think rollers are better than the track any day.

Nice 17 miles. Did you have any kind of food and drink during? Lack of those often will cause the cramps. I am always fiddling around with nutrition for long runs trying to get it just right.

I hit the drinking fountains at Chambers and Titlow for a quick swig of water.

Heavens to Betsy, Chris. Think about carrying a bottle and a little something, chomps, a gu pack to keep those cramps away.
