Get your wallet and ready for a bumpy ride. Take a couple of photos (of the bike), not sure what retro bits I've got in the garage. Retrobikes website is always good for sourcing bits.

After a bit of digging about on e-bay I found some gear in the WollyHatShop.
Shimano Acera MTB V-Brake set
Shimano Altus MTB STI ST-EF51 Gear Shifters & Brake Levers
Deore Cable SetAll new and for £53 delivered, probably all low rent but they'll fit in fine with the rest of the bike....

They made me knackered today Adrian, but I agree in the long run they will help me improve.
I had to stop and walk up the last bit of the hill into Eighton Banks, would have puked otherwise.
Going to stick with this route for a few runs and see how I do.
Beer is a great healer, couple of Becks seems to be accelerating recovery....

I've got no idea Kieth, the little computer thing said 26Km'ish but as there where no wheels involved, just pedals, I'm not sure I'm inclined to believe it. Heart rate averaged >150bpm though so some decent calories disposed of.

I'm happy to report that she was holding me up a bit. Not much, just a bit. As for matching gear, it's just black, not intentional honest.
