      Much better now thanks, not too sore at all. Got a compeed on it and was only really aware of it over the last mile or so. I think resting over the weekend made a big difference! :-)

      Congratulations on a number of things: great PR, perfect execution of your race plan in spite of the crowded conditions (I know exactly how frustrating that is), staying upright, and trusting in your body and training to stick to the plan. Spectacular success! Negative split sure does work when your plan and training set you up to execute!!!

      Such unusual conditions today, my eyelashes and hair were wet and yet I was running in a vest. I set off in the dark too. Can't you get a horn to blast at the geese in the summer months, I'm sure that would give them quite a scare.

      Yup, it's official. We apparently have both pissed off Mother Nature in exactly the same way because she does the same nasty thing to me, my friend. Wind in my face, looking forward to the turn so I get the wind at my back, but wait, hahah, wind in my face again! Argh ;)

      Nice session Chris; I think I'll do my last weights next Tues/Weds. Read an article this morning in the latest Runners World that says you get the gain from your last strength workout 8-14 days later, so with Paris 8 days away you got that one spot on.... assuming you don't do anymore inbetween of course ;-)

      They had a good life. I also find my shoes are pretty much done around the 400 mark. You notice a big difference when running in a new pair.

      Chris that is indeed a great way to send a great pair of friends into retirement. And it is fantastic that you have been able to get your aerobic and overall fitness level to the point where you can do that pace at a 140 HR.

      Great job Chris; those marathon pace efforts are a little daunting but you nailed that effort nicely. Looks like about 8:00min milles might be a good target for the start of your run and then see if you can pick up a little as you go on. Oh, and Paris is quite 'busy' at the start...especially at around the first water station so that will help keep the brakes on a bit.

      lol about the geese. Glad you feel so much better today, and never underestimate that horrible wind. When I entered Bournemouth last year I spent all my time stressing that it would be windy, I don't think I could run a mara in those conditions.
