      Baby & Mummy loop are ok but Daddy loop is an ass kicker! Flapjacks are far better than gels at least they're made of natural ingredients so get your bake on, make more :) Awesome long run today Chris, superbly done :)

      Maybe a day off will help Chris. It's definitely humid out there today. I think it's going to get warmer over the weekend too. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Next time it will be better, it always is!!!

      It makes perfect sense to me, numbers are overrated :) If you enjoyed yourself it's a good run so well done Chris. Luckily you didn't get attacked by the squawking gaggle of crazy geese, that would have been really ugly :D

      Mission aborted?HR mission I hope??Because if it is not the case...what was your mileage goal???I am sorry you didn0t feel good but 23 miles are always something to be happy and proud of!!I can only dream about running that long right now, and who knows when I'll "be back". Maybe it wasn't perfect, but I am sure your next one will feel better!! You just need to find the enthusiasm back! Relax and enjoy the post long run endorphins now!!

      Oh Chris....I am sorry it wasn't fun...but 23 miles is awesome. I did actually snort a little bit when I read "I entertained the thought of giving up this fitness lark"....aaawww, man you must have been on rock bottom throwing your toys out of the crib!!! For someone of your ability to have thoughts of giving up the whole thing, (not just thoughts of giving up say 20+ mile runs....no, the whole fitness thing)...it must have been crappy!! Glad the last 5 were semi enjoyable :-)

      Fantastic to get in a run like this when your uncomfortable with the temperature. I usually need gloves at a much warmer temp than many others even though the rest of me warms up incredibly quickly so I know what it's like to need gloves!

      I wouldn't think it's a fluke. You've been pretty consistent lately Chris, it makes sense that progress will be made. You've also had some decent long runs. The wind is crazy, my bike was wobbling from crosswinds, you gotta love the extra challenge though. I'm still ok to run and ride the bike. With a muscle tear complete rest is not the best approach, at least this way blood will be getting to to the area quicker for increased healing.
