Great distance on the treadmill Chris, I just get to stare at a blank wall when I run, perhaps I need to put a tv up in front if it hehe.

I think it's common for GPS to slightly underestimate distance in the woods-- the trees can give intermittent signal interference, and the GPS connects any gaps as if they are straight lines. Sounds like a nice run in spite of the hip-- trails are the best. Have a great holiday, Chris!

Nice workout Chris! Sounds like you will have fun in the forest (New Forest?)! If you want a nice running challenge between now and april, myself (and about 1000 others) do the Marcothon - minimum 5k every day throughout December. Sounds simple, but life, christmas, the weather, and injury always threaten to end things. There is good camaraderie from everyone on fb about it. Will post a link a bit closer to the time.

That's why I love the 50K with 4,000 to 10,000 ft of gain - so I can "rest" on the climbs ...haha! :) I so hear you on the out and back's congratulating every runner with the "nice job" "nice work" etc. On my last 50K I thought it was never going to end and I was decending a very technical rocky down hill having to jump off the trail for the fast ones
