I get your love for morning runs in the peace of an empty world...well, aside the geese, of course. I can't enjoy my run as well if there are too many people around, I get protective: "that is MY time, MY path, My run, what are you doing HERE ??" You still have time to decide, Chris!! Whatever you decide, it will be the best decision.Sometimes we need to remove some pressure to enjoy things; sometimes, the pressure is what we need to get back on track...Only you know what's the right thing to do!!Ultras can be really tough, they give you a lot but take a lot as well from you, mojo included. It's not math, we need to find our rhythm. I have a marathon on March 1st that I had signed up for last year;I am not excited as well!!

It's a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly. Marathons are a big ask for the body, my brother who ran comrades (86km) last year took a big break from distance running though he still did his 5mile both way commute to work but he wasn't running anything long on the weekends as he usually does. He then went on to run a 3:07 marathon in December (his longest run being 20km) and has picked up so many injuries from that one marathon after been pretty much injury free his whole running life.
