I can only run very early in the morning. No matter how long I wait after eating regular meals during the day ym run will feel uncomfortable. Empty stomach for me, other than maybe a banana or a cup of coffee.

LOL! Chris, is your running buddy on DM?
11 days ago • Like
No, he's not on DM. He was a doctoral student at Illinois and he worked for me during his last 18 months on campus. Got him into running and he was pretty fast...then he got a prof job at Georgetown and was swamped with work and rarely ran the past 9 months...until today. We had to walk 3 times during an easy 4 mile run! We used to do 10 miles at 8-9 minute pace. He promises to get back into it.

Nice watch! I love mine, the only problem is when I head out the door for a run and realize the battery is drained because I forgot to turn it off.

Good point--I'll need to remember to turn it off! It's only been one run, but I love the wireless ANT+ data download.

My one and only trail experience (so far) has convinced me of that as well. Obviously I can run longer or faster on the roads to increase the level of difficulty. But all of the variables and elements encountered on the trail are incredible training tools. I'm finally recovered from last week's mountain race.

I love trails. Probably do about 90% training and racing on trails. But it's nice to see I haven't lost all of my speed when I get back to roads! Plan on mixing up my runs better over the next 3 months--trails, roads, and treadmill.

So you ran the course of a race after the race you volunteered for and created a decade ago - how cool is that!
