    I do not know how people run in the morning. I felt tired from the start. Not a good run, lots of walking. But I still consider it a run because I did more running than walking.

      That's the spirit!

      I generally drink a small glass of water and have something to eat before I dress (like a banana, oatmeal or 1/2 of an energy bar).

      When it's cold, I typically start with a shorter stride and run a little slower til I'm warmed up well. I also wear a lot of layers and am breaking a sweat in no time. On a 5F morning like today, I'd wear 2 layers on bottom, 4 on top (including the outer shell). I realize everyone is different but I'm a fan of erring on side of being warmer.
