So this blister thing is new to me. 15 days ago I had enormous blisters covering the entire pads of my feet buried deep beneath the thick layers of skin. Last night, they decided to shed. Now my feet are raw again and I have an upcoming 24 hour run. How do I fix this?

How long until the 24 hour run? I use foot cream to keep my feet soft and moisturized between races, that seems to help some.

It's in two weeks. I have been running since 2007, and this was the first time ever those painful things have crept up on my feet. And they started around mile 10 of a 100 mile race! Yuck!

Denise, I'd also recommend checking out Jonathan Savage's wiki at fellrunr.com He's got some homemade recipes for toughening up the feet as well as advice on pre-taping. I know duct tape is an easy go to solution, but I'd recommend reading that wiki for pointers before applying duct tape. Also, the book "Fixing Your Feet" is an awesome resource to have on hand.

Mole skin and/or panty hose (or cool new age sock thingies). End of blisters. Thought: are your shoes loose enough or too loose or...?
