It's been an Awesome week! I'll be completely honest I didn't think this week would have gone this well without the support of friends, DM, and a desire that burns deep down inside myself. I have overcome adversity many times in my life and not just in running. I know I needed to make some changes and be a little more true to my training. This includes more sleep, stop drinking any kind of alcohol, more iron and ice-baths! I want my body to be tired(trust me it is), but I want it to also be recovered, because I'm asking a lot from it and will continue running and training hard. I like doing some reflection notes....so if you read this thank you. I'm looking perhaps this week to either squeeze my daily runs closer together, or mid-run take short breaks and run again. The idea is preperation training for relay style running. If anyone has better ideas...shoot em my way. I have also been running earlier than normal because of the heat and I know some ultra runners go early to prep. Hills will also be included still because I love them and small surges after have been beneficial. With the Olympics right around the corner its a great boost on motivation and excitement!! I'm off to bed, but thanks again for all the motivation and inspiration. Tomorrow is a new week and with that is lots of opportunity. :)

Are you training for an ultra?

No ultra, but my training has to be very similiar! Im running an Ultra Relay (36 miles) 6 legs, and a Marathon the following month. The Ultra Relay will consist of these legs all in a less than 24 hour time-frame..so my training will have to match the similarity of running hard on short rest.

I have not had to run that many legs before. Practice getting calories. In between legs find a place where you can get your legs above your head for 30 min or so. I don't know why, but that always seems to help my legs have more pep for the next leg. Gl
