It may have been slow but I did it! 52K for my 52nd birthday; my first Ultra distance. Bobby H. went with me. We went to bed early, and got up at midnight so we would have plenty of time to finish. We had plenty of elevation, but my garmin chooses "now" not to download. Enough elevation for us that the last few miles we chose to run around the lake, and every little rise was an effort to get over. But I can now officially call myself an Ultra-Runner!

What a way to celebrate a birthday! That kind of celebration has a way of getting harder with the years :-)

True! Last year I ran 5.1miles. But that was in the morning before work. I told Bobby at this point 53 miles is not even a consideration for next year. But I once said I would never run a marathon, or even a half. :-P

Finally pleaded my garmin into downloading. I knew it was a lot, but I was shocked... over 6700 feet total elevation gain. Between 7100 and 8200 feet elevation.
