My two previous days of adding some hot hot heat bike adventures has made my legs a bit sore (in the good, training benefit way), so I went for a slow recovery jog today so I'll get the most benefit out of my long run tomorrow. Target pace was 7:40 or slower...strangely enough it is on the uphills where I find myself speeding up without meaning to.

My dream is to have a 7:38 recovery pace. Amazing job, Caleb! Way to push it on the uphill--that's the toughest part, so if you have that kind of strength, you're ahead of the game!

Nice recovery "jog" for you--run for me:-) I hear ya loud and clear on the hills--for me, it's hills and wind--I find myself speeding up--either to get through it faster or b/c I know if I let it; my time will be slower. I'll leave that to the psych docs. Hope it's a good long run tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

It was a little freaky to see you post right after me...but nice to do the "virtual" run with you as well. I think that would be the only way I would not slow down your run! The weather here is beautiful today, wish you could be here running. There is a new marathon here this fall, tho I think it is a week away from Portland.

I find myself doing the same thing on the hills...it's automatic that I start pushing the pace on the hills. Nice recovery run!

Ha, since 2 people asked simultaneously, I'll answer. I have 18 on the training plan for tomorrow with the option for up to 20 if I feel good. It will be the normal 14 with a group that starts slow and comes back in the mid-6 range, then 4+ on my own, so it's a combo long/mental strength run.
