alright Greenway Fartlek 13.12 mi 01:28 06:42 pace

Felt tired going in to this morning's run, but that's the point. 4+ warm-up, then 5+ miles of fartlek, then 4 cool-down. I was a little bit slower than the plan on paper for each of my on segments, but the same training effect was easily achieved. Looking forward to a string of exceptionally easy runs before going long this weekend. Also, even though I felt flat today, this was a positive workout and good mental practice for later miles in NYC.

Fartlek cycles were: 3 HMP, 2 off, 2 10M Pace, 2 off, 1 5k Effort, 4 off, repeat. After 2 cycles, I added a finishing 5-minute on segment at just slower than MP to rehearse staying efficient with the effort on dead legs.

Pretty darn solid Caleb and as you stated, it is the effort that makes the difference, our trainig cycle and rest dictates the watch at times. Effort is always true. Wish I was going to see you unleash the beast in NYC this Fall. Remains my favorite marathon - will be interested to hear how you think it compares to Boston - I actually give NYCM the nod.

Great workout on tired legs. Probably tough mentally to push. You've had an exceptional string of workouts and races. The flat day will just remind you that you are human.

So, you essentially ran 2 more miles than me in nearly the same amount of time. Sigh. Super amazing!

I really like that workout, Caleb. Looks pretty challenging. I think I might steal it for when I start my marathon training.
