Daily coaching tip: Buy an over-sized pair of PJs or sweats at Goodwill and then toss them at the start of a cold race. Tried and true, but this one works for staying warm and not accidentally losing something important because you forgot to put it in your race bag before hitting the start.

I am totally OK with the new rule, but I am fully expecting NYRR to hear endless complaints and arguments against it for the foreseeable future...

    @Caleb - great tip. I usually hit TJ Maxx for some sweats prior to a cold weather race and drop them at the start. Most large races redistribute the clothes to those less fortunate.

    My problem with NYRR is the finish! With no family or no -racing friends coming to town it could be a cold walk back to the rental!

    @Allie: It looks like they are giving out extra warm gear at the finish to help out with that. Just make sure you carry a subway card or some money to get back!
