My two previous days of adding some hot hot heat bike adventures has made my legs a bit sore (in the good, training benefit way), so I went for a slow recovery jog today so I'll get the most benefit out of my long run tomorrow. Target pace was 7:40 or ... read more

goodMo' Cycle 18.42 mi 01:04 17.4mph pace
Waaaaay too warm for a tempo run today, so opted for some more cycling instead. Went for a route with more hills than yesterday so I would still get my HR up for today's workout. Thermometer reads 96 degrees upon my return to the house.

Wow man. That is hardcore riding. Nice job in 96 degree hotness!!!

goodBerserker Mode! 7.1 mi 00:48 06:45 pace
I've had enough conference calls after 5 PM to last a lifetime, and this is the second night in a row I've had to miss putting Camden to bed for one, so I needed a run to get my mind right. Feeling much better now!
Sun was almost gone, temp still 90 ... read more

Today's meme: Do you have a drinking problem? Do you spill, wear, inhale, snort, or drink the majority of the water handed to you during races? created by Runfasterdaddy
I hate cups in races. They are, for lack of a better word, dumb. Best story isn't... read more

At least you weren't one of the lucky few to be running through the Presidio last weekend at the SF marathon when the sprinklers came on! I heard a guy got dowsed in the face by a sprinkler with the water pressure equal to a fire hose... talk about battling the elements.

One thing I like about cups and water stations: It gives little kids a chance to volunteer and help out.

Ha. I'd forgotten about the Boston incident. Too funny! We'll see about getting you back at RnR. I'll probably be asking you to pour water over me in that one...

For me, this is a solid hour on the bike...good pace considering the heat, and that I haven't spent much time cycling lately. I think I'm going to add a few hours of cycling to my existing training schedule to help my muscles stay alert. I'll try to ... read more

good9.05 mi 01:07 07:21 pace
Easy nine to start the week. I am trying to get out earlier...enough of the heat already. It's going to be close to 100 again today, so this pre-dawn run was a welcome change. Nearly, if not completely, full moon to boot.

goodLimit Approaching 12.01 mi 01:25 07:05 pace
Just me and Eric for the "group" run this weekend. The humidity is just about as bad as I have ever experienced, and when it's 80 degrees by 9:00, any run can be a bag full of suck. We did the normal deal: out to the turnaround in high 7's ... read more

@Caleb the pace never got that low purposely...just oops...and I can't remember a run longer than 90 minutes. Damn race horses never need to run very long.

greatMore Redmond Running 8.25 mi 01:04 07:43 pace
Nice and cool this morning with overcast skies. Got out by 5:30, and took it slow by spending about half the run on trails/gravel. Wanted to give myself a true recovery today...still lots of hills in this one, though! Full day of meetings ahead.

In Redmond, WA for some business. Holy moly, there are some hills here! This run was awesome - found some trails, found some lakes and big houses to ogle, and crushed some hills. A nice way to spend an hour. The weather is a welcome change from the G... read more

Nice run Caleb! 7:13 pace isn't very conducive to ogling big houses though...
