My first half marathon....DONE. I wish I could have powered through to a sub 2:00 finish, but I'm pretty pleased that I got at close as I did (around 2:02). Not bad for an old-ish dude's ... read more

Chris--just great! I was actually thinking about your earlier today--wondering how it went. Your time is solid. Congrats on the 1st Half under the belt. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    good Home 4.17 mi 00:41 09:43 pace

Last few days tapering down before the HM on Saturday. This was the comfiest run in ages. Maybe a bit too comfy, but I'm trying to get over my hip flexors ALWAYS being sore when I run. I'... read more

    Decent.

  4. RUN
alright Round the hood 3.5 mi 00:32 09:08 pace

Time's a guess as I ran electronically naked today. No watch. No tunes. Just my heavy breathing and cussing when I had to run through mucky grass.

  5. RUN
alright Home neighborhood 5.03 mi 00:46 09:11 pace

Dang I hate morning runs after a huge rain. The choices are run in traffic (in the dark), run in muddy grass, or run through ankle-deep puddles on the sidewalk. I always opt for the puddles but it&... read more

Excellent perspective. I would choose the puddles too. And then donuts...or more accurately beer later. Nice 5 miles.

blah Around home 5.02 mi 00:45 09:00 pace

Was way dragging this morning. Don't love running in the dark at oh-dark-thirty, but sometimes that's the only way to squeeze it in. Wish I could get my dang hip flexors to settle in and ... read more

I know what you mean about the stretching. Paying for the lack of it myself with my knee right now.

I hear you 100%. I did a one hill workout back in February and my hips have truly never been the same. And as much as they bother me you think I would stretch more than I do. If you figure out the secret to getting them better let me in on it. Nice 5 miles.

  8. RUN
good Park West 5.07 mi 00:45 08:53 pace

Brisk pace for me for 5:30am and > 5 mi, but I was running late and had no choice but to huff it a bit. Felt great though.

  9. RUN
alright Park West / Dunes West 5.19 mi 00:46 08:56 pace

Decent run. Knees feel a bit like old man knees. Will prolly take a rest day tomorrow.

  10. RUN
good Park West as usual 4.85 mi 00:45 09:10 pace

Expected to be in rougher shape given that my Saturday run was my longest ever. This wasn't too bad. Loving my new Soleus GPS watch.

good Out to the PW schools and bac... 5.05 mi 00:47 09:13 pace

Long slow distance (except probably neither as long nor as slow as should have been). But was lowest effort run in a long time. For once I felt like I could do another 5 without too much difficulty.

That is a sign of a good run. And kudos to you if you can figure out how to pace yourself to go as slow as you are supposed to. I swear it is harder than going fast.

  14. RUN
alright Park West and Dunes West 5.81 mi 00:50 08:37 pace

The more relaxed, definitely the faster the pace for the same effort. Best pace ever for > 5 miles. Now if only I can keep that up for 13.1 in September.

  15. RUN
good Park West to pool, around tow... 3 mi 00:27 09:07 pace

Good, easy run. Still trying to coax hip flexors back into cooperating. Need to rest up but still need to up the mileage before HM in Sept.

  16. RUN
alright Park West including school loop 6.17 mi 00:54 08:49 pace

Little more like it. 20 deg cooler makes all the difference.

  17. RUN
tired Park West 6.48 mi 01:00 09:18 pace

Not sure if it was the heat (87) or the week off during vacation last week, but this was no walk in the park.
