  1. RUN
    great 3.1 mi 00:37 11:49 pace

Some bushwhacking, some road, all fun. Back after 3!?! stubbed toes (3 separate incidents more comical than the last, and 1 suspected broken toe).

  2. RUN
    great 3.11 mi 00:24 07:51 pace

Longest run since my injury. Lungs feel like they're on fire.

Ran barefoot so I wouldn't be tempted to run too far. Feet feel like they're on fire too.

Strained a tendon in my heel. (Stressed it out by riding a bike 15 miles pulling ~75 lbs with no shoes on.) It's feeling much better now, but I've definitely have lost some conditioning during my time off.

TARC Fall Classic Trail Half ... 13.1 mi 01:57 08:55 pace

Best. Race. Ever. But... Hardest. Race. Ever.

An awesome course through the woods of Great Brook Farm in Carlisle. Simple race: no swag, bring food to share. There was an incredible selection ... read more

whoa, sounds like an intense race! I should consider this. how was the surface?

You probably burnt out a lot of your top-end energy too early (i.e. went too fast).

You should definitely check it out. I'm planning to go to the weekly trail run in Middlesex Fells soon, I'll let you know when I do if you want to join.

Surface was mostly hard-pack dirt, with a good mixture of tree roots and rocks mixed in. My feet were still hurting today. Only minor hills, so no major climbing.

Too fast to start is probably right---I still haven't learned proper pacing...

  6. RUN
great Magic mile 1 mi 00:05:38 05:38 pace

    This predicts ( ) I could run a 5k in 19:10... Either I'm ready to break 20 in the 5k, or I really mis-measured the distance tonight.

  7. RUN
great Backwoods of Wilmington 7.64 mi 01:01 07:59 pace

Long run with a friend of a friend. Legs started to get heavy near the end, but we pushed through.

  8. RUN
great Wilmington Happy Birthday 5k 3.1 mi 00:21 06:37 pace

A new PR! (Just barely.) Only 32 seconds left to go for a sub-20.

Felt like I should have been able to run faster, especially on the last mile.

great Along canal 8 mi 01:20 10:00 pace

  10. RUN
great Long run along river 12 mi 02:20 11:39 pace

Actually, along and *under* the river. Felt like I could have done more, but glad I didn't because I spent the rest of the next day recovering.

  11. RUN
City, river and mountain 4 mi 00:40 10:00 pace

Along a river, up a mountain, and back in time for tea. What more can you want for a run?

  12. RUN
    tired Lake Q 5k 3.34 mi 00:23 06:50 pace

Nice fun, low-key, no-frills race for the whole family to enjoy.

Ran off course (notice the "loop" just past 2 miles?) and ran an extra ~1/4 mile.

  14. RUN
    great CMS 52 week 5k series 3.1 mi 00:21 06:38 pace

It's a PR! Only 36 seconds left to go. All the fast runners were at another race in Grafton, so I came in 3rd overall.

No splits because my watch ran out of battery a mile into the race.
