    Some bushwhacking, some road, all fun. Back after 3!?! stubbed toes (3 separate incidents more comical than the last, and 1 suspected broken toe).

    Longest run since my injury. Lungs feel like they're on fire.

    Ran barefoot so I wouldn't be tempted to run too far. Feet feel like they're on fire too.

      Strained a tendon in my heel. (Stressed it out by riding a bike 15 miles pulling ~75 lbs with no shoes on.) It's feeling much better now, but I've definitely have lost some conditioning during my time off.

      whoa, sounds like an intense race! I should consider this. how was the surface?

      You probably burnt out a lot of your top-end energy too early (i.e. went too fast).

      You should definitely check it out. I'm planning to go to the weekly trail run in Middlesex Fells soon, I'll let you know when I do if you want to join.

      Surface was mostly hard-pack dirt, with a good mixture of tree roots and rocks mixed in. My feet were still hurting today. Only minor hills, so no major climbing.

      Too fast to start is probably right---I still haven't learned proper pacing...

    Long run with a friend of a friend. Legs started to get heavy near the end, but we pushed through.

    It's a PR! Only 36 seconds left to go. All the fast runners were at another race in Grafton, so I came in 3rd overall.
