I had targeted to finish the race in 8 hours with the hope of finishing under 8. I didn't stop my watch immediately after finishing so unofficially I finished in 7:47:51. WooHoo!
As expected the climb for the final two hills wore me down
to what felt like a crawl. What I didn't anticipate was how painful and discouraging the Matt Davis trail would be, with Philip Lee & I venting at basically every stair section. I don't know if I would have finished under 8 if it wasn't for Phil pausing every once in awhile during the Steep Ravine climb when I fall too far behind. I hope I was able to return the favor with the pace I set for the final 3.8 miles to the finish.
I also have to give many thanks to my beautiful wife, May Ladrillono for organizing all the cheer stations. Seeing all our TNT friends at the stations was always uplifting and just gave me an extra burst of energy. Also seeing everyone cheering at the finish line made that final sprint sooooo worth it! Too many people to thank but I want to thank my father-in-law, Ric V. Avelino, for making the long trip to see me finish.

Congrats on another 50K! I was just recalling how pathetic I looked fumbling over rocks and tree roots on Matt Davis ~ resembling much of first week Ultra training. But we did it! - under 8 hours!
