Congratulations on a great race, Brian!! Sometimes even when we train hard we wind up with worse times. And then when we run a race expecting the worst we PR! Just remember you ran 13.1 miles!! So awesome!! Enjoy a break and then get back on track for the Martian in April!

      Nice Job:

Still a pretty darn good race if you ask me. I agree with Torrie. Sometimes it just works out that way... You feel like the training is there and the result isn't what you expected. Just remember to point that out to me the next time I run a race. Because this exact same thing drives me crazy :).

Good for you listening to your body and truly doing what you want to do! I’ve done this very same thing before and it really takes so much stress away from trying to tackle winter training and long runs on the treadmill. You’ll have so much more fun training for the half! Maybe try a fall marathon next year so you can train over the summer. Regardless, great miles today!! Exploring the old zoo sounds fun!
