good Brian's Marathon Thursday 26.2 mi 05:09 11:46 pace

Dress rehearsal for Chicago; didn't set any land speed records, but gained some important feedback on shoe selection, nutrition, and which body parts start hurting first.

Saw Brian C. on the path early this AM lookin' "diesel." Great seein' ya, my friend.

26.2 miles @ 11:46 pace; 5:08:43 overall timing.

Happy Thursday, everyone.

Holy cow - 26.2, 10 days out? Not exactly what I call a taper run, even at an easy pace - hope you recover quickly from this one.

Interesting approach ... it certainly serves as a reminder to me that we still learn things from each and every marathon (official or not) no matter how many we accomplish. You have demonstrated an innate knowledge of what works for you over the past few years so I trust this is one unique approach to a success for you Brian.

@Monique R--My feet are usually the first things to go on me during long runs and marathons. My left foot started to get sore around mile-15, which I noted because I'm making a decision on which shoe to wear in my marathon in 10 days.

I would give you a medal for this B! Great job taking on the FM distance on a training run. Would you mind sharing esp. the nutrition part what worked and didn't work for you on this run? Did you hit a wall by any chance? Curious here. My HERO!!
