I've been slacking on posting workouts on here. I will get better! In the meantime here is a sweet picture of Team Salsa Pants, winner of Ventura Triathlon Olympic-distance relay!

Hike up Whiteface 2 mi
Took about an hour and a half to get up and down. We took our time. It was really steep and we geocached along the way.

Team Salsa Pants placed first in the Ventura Breath of Life triathlon relay today! I did the 10k run which ended up being a little long but I still broke 47 min!

Was driving to trailhead to do a 5 to 6 mile hilly loop but saw Tamra running so I joined her and did a 9.25 mile fairly hilly street run instead. Trying to keep my heart rate low.

Intervals at Park 5.4 mi 00:53 09:51 pace
My legs felt pretty heavy from the beginning of the workout. I think it's from my barefoot run yesterday. I have a feeling my heart rate monitor was off today. BPM seems too low.

good 4 mi 00:52 13:03 pace
My farthest barefoot run! 4 miles on sidewalk and asphalt. My boyfriend's Mom surprised me with a pedicure after work then as soon as I got home, went and got my feet dirty.

Thanks! Feet and legs felt fine during the run. Soaked my feet in an ice bath right after for good measure. Hour or two later they started to ache - the skin, not muscles (seems to happen after most my barefoot runs). I iced them more and they felt fine in the morning. Didn't realize until I started my run tonight that my legs got a good workout yesterday even though it was such a slow pace. They felt pretty heavy.

1st 5k in VFFs! 5.4 mi 00:47 08:45 pace
I ended up not racing my 5k barefoot today. A mile of the course was on a dirt path with lots of rocks and acorns so I decided to race in my VFF KSOs for the first time. 1st in my age group and 3... read more

Great Performance:
I guess our definition of barefoot is different. I think any race without shoes is barefoot. Congrats on your first race getting 1st in your age bracket.

So awesome! And also a little bummed it takes so long to work up the mileage barefoot. I'm like you with the pineapples: patience, patience patience.

It's possible I'm being too cautious and could up the mileage faster. It just seems like everything I read about barefoot running warns against that. One of my friends told me I am being more cautious about this than anything he's ever seen me do.

6 mile Tempo Run at the Park 7.25 mi 01:01 08:20 pace
One of my fastest tempo runs - 6 miles at 7:49 pace! I should eat a churro at lunch more often. I started out a bit too fast though. I like to have negative splits.

Tam - I have to check but I think it said my max was 209. Kind of gross.
Chris - Yeah our coach had us do the 800s to help us warm-up. I think it actually helped a lot. The 200s after were nice because it helped us all realize that even though we all felt like we had nothing left at the end of the mile, we did.
Alex - My sister & I run with a running club and our coach puts the workouts together. I actually went to high school with him. He's so fast. Usually races 5k's and 10k's.
