Eliot, they spray red arrows on parts of the course where people may get lost, but they might as well use a felt tip pen as doesn't help.. theres the national loop you follow, and they give out maps too... Its a good course with nice treats at check points. You could run it with the long distance runs you're up to. :-)

What Garmin do you recommend Brad?

Ricky, just depends on what you are after i wouldn't suggest getting anything less than a 110 or a 210... look on wiggle and handtec websites for best deals and details of spec for watches. i have a 910 but its amultisport watch.. the 110, 210, 410, 610 are for running only... as you go up the numbers you get more spec and training tools.. hope that helps.

Elliot, cheers... Hydration packs are the way forward, and if you're gonna be doing an ultra next year, u will need one as they only habe water stops/check points every 10 miles approx.. Shop around though. I use a salomon s-lab pack, the camelbak ultra is nice too.. But plenty of options out there!
