My boss finishing his 10th Western States 100 run this last weekend. Unfortunately, his time was 30.00.47 hours, the cut-off to receive an "official" finish is 30. Not too bad for a guy whose doctor told him he should not run anymore due to a damaged backbone.

I've read about that race, and for your boss to be able to finish it in any time is absolutely phenomenal as far as i'm concerned.

It is great working with him, his attitude extends to everything he does, couldn't ask for a better boss. He has run a LOT of ultra-distance events during his lifetime (he is around 60'ish) and is having trouble listening to the doctor and not running events (his backbone has dried out). I got him turned to the dark side (cycling) and he is now doing century rides...but this is his favorite race (after the Hardrock 100) and he got in this year so he said "what the heck" and ran it.
