Barefoot long run. Set out not knowing if I would even make 6 miles, but hoping for 13.
At 5 I decided to stick to roads and ran out a further 2 miles and then return using the same route, rather then use the canal that requires shoes. I used a gel a 9 miles and then I don't know what happened - I felt like I could run forever! I tacked on a couple of local miles at the end but knew I would be in trouble at Chez Bob if I stayed out any longer!
Walked / ran barefoot for a mile with the dog after tea. Legs and feet surprisingly didn't feel tired, and soles didn't complain either. Result!

Thanks Chris. My longest barefoot run by a few miles so really pleased with this one!

How cold does it get during your winters? Can you keep running barefoot? Tomorrow morning we expect our first freezing temps...and it will get colder and colder. I don't seem to tolerate barefoot running when it's under 50F.

It can get pretty cold here -10°C (14°F) but I've only run down to about -1°C barefoot (30°F)
I did run a couple of miles barefoot on fresh snow earlier this year, which was brilliant after the first few minutes.
When it starts to get cooler and wetter, and barefootin' isn't so appealing - I remind myself I'm acclimatising for the cold months ahead!
