Soreness is pretty much gone now but this run just felt a bit blah! I'll decide tomorrow if my body needs an early rest day or whether I wait until Friday. After all, I don't want to be injuring myself this close to the marathon.

Wise to listen to your body when you are getting close to your marathon. What pace to you plan to run the marathon at Heather?

Must be blah week. Good to get it over and done with now. Are you tapering yet?

No, it is still 6 1/2 weeks until the marathon. Two more really long runs and some medium length runs to go yet. Tapering will start at the end of this month.

I'm still undecided about marathon pace. I was planning around 6:15 but recent results suggest I may be able to go a little faster than that. Being my first (and maybe my only) marathon, I am really just aiming to finish.

Yeah I know what you mean it's difficult to know.I started mine at 6.30 hoping I'd have something left at the end but I just got slower and slower towards the end! I think if you are inserting the walk breaks you'll get away with doing a bit faster.I think this one I'll do at around 6....I'll see how I get though the training first.

Nice easy run Sis. It is so good watching you prepare for this challenge. I'm so proud of what you have already achieved :)

Glad the soreness is gone! Sounds like another dip in the roller coaster ride, you'll get back up there, definitely listen to your body :)

Thanks Al and Viet. I'm just aware that I'm doing all this with a tired body. I'm sure when I have my rest day, it will all be good again.

Oh and 'marathon pace' thing? Just finish and enjoy the challenge. Or as my mother (not a runner!) would say: What is ten minutes compared to eternity of having finished a marathon.

Your mother is a very wise woman! It is absolutely true and yet, strangely, I don't feel I've achieved a whole lot in one sense and then I think back to my halfie last year when it seemed like a huge achievement. Just enjoying the ride at the moment.

Great run H! Quick for an 'easy' pace. Perhaps instead of a rest day have an easy day ;)

Did you run yesterday Lee?

Yes I did. I'm just having a horrific week and not updated. In Adelaide now. No running today, but brought my kit for a run around Adelaide
