Dave and I headed out for a repeat of last week's run minus the snow. Should be a safer run - right?? Not! I stepped on a large stick, turned the ankle and went down. A woman stopped right away and drove us home. Thank you Barbara. There were two other people who were coming over to help. It was hugely swollen by the time we got home. Went to Tria Orthopedics right away. Severely sprained but not broken. I'm in an air cast now and can move to a split as soon as I can tolerate it. Doc thought I might be able to do some light running in a month. I can swim and bike as I'm able. Just listen to the pain.

Oh Renee, I'm so sorry! Sounds so frustrating and painful. I would bring you some chicken soup if you lived closer (and I wasn't vegetarian).

I see where you were on the map right outside my neighborhood. I always worry about the ground in that area. Glad Tria is nearby and that you can still swim and bike.

There is really nothing I can say to make it better. Seems like your training was going so well and I am sure you are a little frustrated. i know I would be. The only thing you can do is stay positive and sounds like you will be spending a little more time in the pool. Wishing you back to a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear about the sprain. Renee. A month seems like a long time, but at least nothing's torn or broken. Channeling healing energy your way!

Oh, Renee! I'm so sorry about this. I saw the picture of your ankle yesterday, but I wasn't entirely sure that's what it was! Such a lump on there! This is a bummer, but at least you can do those other activities. I so hope your ankle will heal quickly Take care of yourself!
