So secretly been nursing an injured knee and hoping that the time away helped. Ran this last night. Felt pretty good for most of the run until the final mile uphill and knee was acting up. Went to visit a doc friend this morning....Grade 2 Medial Ligament Sprain with hopefully no tear. Looks like I will be off running and in the pool for 4-6 weeks. Not a good day, but at least there is no surgery in my future.

You've worked hard all year. Taking 4-6 weeks off will get you ready for next year's runs. Take care of your sprain.

Ergh, so sorry to hear about the injury. It is a blessing that surgery is not required. I've been on the DL before. So frustrating! Take care of yourself!

Bummer. I was hoping you'd come and run Steel Hill with me tomorrow. I guess I'll have to wait until the new year for that. Good luck on the healing.

Try duct taping a couple of ice cold beers to your knee, while enjoying a wee bit of the whiskey. You will be feeling great in no time.

So sorry! Glad you did get a diagnosis. They won't tell me what's wrong. Oh well. Will miss you at the Snowflake on Sunday morning! And I won't even attach a bandaid since I know you don't like them!

Sorry that your knee has been acting up, but so happy for you that there is no surgery required! The pool will keep you a bit warmer than some running over the next couple of weeks. Take care of yourself! Best wishes on a good recovery!

Very sorry to hear about your setback, Greg. :( I know it's going to be really tough on you, especially as much as you genuinely enjoy running, but take all the time required to get that knee back to 100 percent.
