This was a novelty, couldn't go this far on the flat in Albany :)
Knocked off a whole 7 seconds. I counted the steps this time, about 730 :)
My new local route (I've moved to Clevedon) with a nice 200m climb in the middle :)
Somehow, I don't think I'll be doing a 5 min km pace on this circuit.
Just did a short hill run, rather than the usual long weekend run. Also did a couple hours easy walking, and legs starting to feel a bit better.

Yeah, about as far away from my current place as I can get while still being in Auckland. Duders regional park is about 5 min drive away, nice running there; and no shortage of horses either. Apparently there's a run-swim-kayak-horseride event, maybe next year :)

Probably shouldn't have kept going, shin splints. Will have to cut back or walk for a bit.
I needed a run, but my legs didn't want to, so compromised and went slow. Think i need new shoes, right knee seems to get a bit sore when i've worn them out.
That was a bit better. Started earlier in the morning when it wasn't so hot, and also had some fog to keep cool.
I'll blame the temperature, but it might have been the cake :)
Well you burnt off the cake, so it's all good. Have another piece!!

Didn't know if my legs could take it, but I made it. Strapped my legs up when I got home, and they're feeling much better today. Maybe just needed a longer run to straighten everything out.
Not your fastest on that loop, but at least you got it done. Still a good pace considering how little running you've done since Christmas, and great by my standards!!

Woohoo, first run in a month. I'm finally back in Auckland, but would rather have stayed on holiday :)

Great looking walk, good views? Hope you got a feed of crayfish at the end of it!! You must be a pretty polished rider now, are you going to be doing any horse riding events?

There were great views of the peninsula, and the tops were really nice, but its hard to get photos to show how steep they were. My riding is better; and I've started to get an idea of what I need to work on. I think my riding instructor in Auckland wants me to enter some event this year, I'll see how I go, but it would be fun :)

Yeah, I've got nearly another 2 weeks left at the school. Learning new stuff every day, but still learning of more things that I don't know about :)

Yeah, lots of leg and back, unfortunately not the same ones as for running, so I'm a bit sore, but fine once warmed up.
That would be one way of recording it, some days might look a bit odd going around and around in circles :)

My first run in about 2 weeks. Took a few km to get going, and then it was just hot and dry. Lake looked very tempting, but havent jumped in yet.
I had planned on taking it easy, going hut to hut, but it was a bit dull sitting around in the afternoons, so I skipped a few huts and came out 3 days early (7 days instead of 10).
