  1. RUN
    good Itasca/Wood Dale 10.06 mi 02:14 13:22 pace

Nice run this morning. Spent a lot of time on the bike paths. Mile 3 was rough, but I pushed through and it got better! Decided to register for my first marathon. I may have officially lost my mind!

  2. RUN
    alright Human Rack 5K (+5 miles) 8.3 mi 01:42 12:17 pace

The lungs were still a little irritated today. New inhaler didn't seem to work out today. Good thing I have a script for the old one that I can get filled before next week :-)

  3. RUN
good Pints Run! 2.67 mi 00:51 18:56 pace

not bad for first friend run back. Knee was OK. Lungs don't know what hit them :-)

  4. VELO
good Itasca Fitness Center 2 mi 00:10:30 11.4mph pace

A nice balance after a quick run. I also did some weights to strengthen my back and legs.

  5. RUN
good Itasca Fitness Center Track 2 mi 00:20 10:00 pace

Impromptu run. No running wear, old shoes, no orthotics, no inhaler. Needed to get rid of some frustration so I could buckle down and get some work done.

  6. FIT
good Yoga + Strength Training 01:30

Good stuff to work areas that really need it.

  7. RUN
    alright Treadmill 3.15 mi 00:45 14:17 pace

Lots of walking with the running today. Not really in the mood for much of anything today, but wanted to get some distance in. Hopefully things will be back to normal by the weekend!

  8. FIT
    good Stretch and Strengthen 00:30

Trying to stretch out the achy parts from Saturday's half.

  9. RUN
good Polar Dash 13.32 mi 02:59 13:26 pace

Slower than I was hoping, but still better than it could have been. Periods of tweakiness with the knee, but was able to push through. The lungs were not as happy so more walking breaks than normal... read more

  10. RUN
    good Treadmill 4 mi 00:50 12:30 pace

Knee not so tweaky today. Lungs were really hating me, but the knee was OK. Maybe Saturday will be OK after all!

  11. FIT
good Itasca Fitness Center 5.6 mi 00:30 05:21 pace

Multitasking on the bike again today. Reading ChiRunning while riding. Hoping it helps stop the injuries and increases my running ability. I'll keep you posted ;-)

  12. FIT
    good Strength Training 01:15

Broken up during the day. 30 minutes of ab work at home then 45 minutes of specific work at the chiropractor. Coming back stronger than ever!

  13. FIT
    good Itasca Fitness Center 00:15:00

Strength training. Those hamstring exercises still really leave my legs tired. Guess I should do more!

  14. VELO
good Itasca Fitness Center 5.3 mi 00:30 10.6mph pace

Nice day to ride, listen to music, and read ChiRunning. Here's looking to an injury free year!

  15. FIT
good Ice chiseling and shoveling 01:00

Note to self-even if you're tired, shoveling the sidewalk the first day after it snows is so much better than having to chip off all of the ice AFTER half the Village of Itasca walks on it!

  16. FIT
    alright Itasca Fitness Center 00:15:00

Balance and strength training. Stuff from the chiropractor to help the knee.

  17. RUN
alright Itasca Fitness Center 3 mi 00:40 13:20 pace

Still tweaky, but not as bad. Was planning on running longer, but decided to play it safe and shift to strength training. Here's hoping!

  18. FIT
    good Wellman Driveway 00:50

Shoveling should TOTALLY count as exercise so I'm posting it here. Someday, we may really need to get a snowblower!

  19. FIT
    good Ducat Chiropractic & Sports M... 00:45

Strength training with the rehab folks at the chiropractor. Luckily the half marathon has been postponed to next weekend because of the weather (apparently the city of Chicago can't get the pa... read more
