  1. goodPool Therapy for Heel Stress ... 01:00

I had my first of several sessions in the pool to rehab my #heelstressfx. It was great and actually quite enjoyable! I can tell that it'll really be a big benefit to getting back to running.

  2. Scheduled my PT evaluation for Friday morning, so there's light at the end of the tunnel for the stress fracture in my heel.

At the appointment last week, the doctor said she wanted me doing weight bearing as tolerated. So far that's gone very well. I... read more

  3. I am SOOOO ready to get back to running and for my #heelstressfx to be gone. It's been about five weeks now since my last run and I'm getting "itchy" to be active.

I know that there's non-weight-bearing activities that people often do with a... read more

Most people don't have the discipline to "rest it out". Good advice, wish I could follow it, but the "itchy" gets too much sometimes!

Five weeks? WOW! Be patient and don't rush your recovery. What's that saying? "Do you wanna run tomorrow or do you wanna run the rest of your life?" Hang in there and keep us posted. You'll be out there soon enough.

It's so hard to be patient. I'm in a holding pattern too due to a knee injury! Hang in there, bud! Crossing my fingers for you!

The lengths to which shoe companies will go to sell you ANOTHER pair of shoes continues to amaze me. I suppose it shouldn't, since that's their job. But this one is really something! Thanks for sharing.

  6. injuredHeel Stress Fracture

Well, @dailymile friends, I have a stress fracture in my left heel. No running for a while. That means that the 5K this Sunday that I was training for -- my first official race -- will have to be run by others. I'm going to try volunteering for the rac... read more

Sorry about this Barefootmichael. Hopefully, this won't keep you out long. Volunteering will take a little sting out. Take care and all the best with the recovery

  7. The Ankle Verdict #fb: The doc has given me the (literal) thumbs up to run the race on Sunday. His words were, "We're moving in the right direction...It's only a 5K, it's not like you're running a marathon. Go for it." That's good, but...

Heel? Are you sure its not plantar faciitis? Anyway, sounds like progress. Good luck sunday!

@Mark F.: The thing is that the major pain happens when he squeezes on the *sides* of the heel. No pain on the bottom. It doesn't seem to fit plantar faciitis.

  8. goodCore Workout 00:30

I needed to sweat a little bit after having rested from exercise for over a week due to my bum achilles. It felt good all around. We'll see how the achilles feels when I go to my followup with my doc later on. It's been feeling much better, so I'm REAL... read more

  9. Even with my bum achilles, I think I'm going to do a core exercise ball workout in the morning. I need to sweat in a good way. Feeling...icky. Need cleansing.

How you liking that bog Boot? LOL

The boot is evil. It's about as far away from barefoot as one can get, yet it allows my toes to stick out and "taste" freedom that they can't have. FMB.
