My first wrong turning led me here. I didn't really mind.

    Some friendly horses

  3. Shared Photo

Some kind of farm hardware buried beneath bluebells and wild garlic in the woods

Thatched cottages and buttercup meadow in the warm Wiltshire sunshine. No more getting lost after this. It was all plain sailing from here.

    good Lacock trails 13.5 mi

Took myself off-road this morning to clear my head after a glass too many the night before. A bit of route-finding, so a few stops to consult the map. A surprisingly warm, sunny morning (rain was f... read more

Getting lost used to feel like failure. Since I learned that it is inevitable I have learned to embrace the experience :)

great Peckingell out and back 5 mi

A delicious jaunt in the late afternoon sun. No watch. No shoes. Bliss.

  7. RUN
great Riverside trails 7 mi 00:59 08:22 pace

A relaxed run following the narrow trails that cut through farmland and follow the River Avon around here. Constant heavy rain. The river swollen and rushing. Wet grass and earth. Puddles. All this... read more

great Bad Behaviour 3.01 mi 00:20 06:42 pace

Not my usual kind of run. I felt like throwing caution to the wind for a change. Quite a buzz just to let go. Steady rain, 11°C and a bit gusty.

  9. RUN
great Langley Burrel 5.69 mi 00:51 08:53 pace

This got better the longer it went. 7am is early for me on a Saturday but a bright sun and the thought of running barefoot on damp roads and pavement was my motivation. An excellent start to the we... read more

great Light of foot 3 mi

Barefoot and gadget-free on roads and pavement. A brisk pace. Massively enjoyable. Sunshine, a strong wind and 12°C outside - feels like a storms-a-comin'.

Here I am, overjoyed to have completed my second Neolithic Marathon. Certainly, the hours before and after were less joyful but this image, captured by a friend, has so much value in it.

    Rough. More words later.
EDIT -- So, the day went not as I'd hoped. Lots of learnings to take away but, for now, I'll give a brief summary, hopefully without sounding like a moany git. In... read more

I can't imagine how cool it would be to run to Stonehenge. Wow! Ok, so you weren't able to better your time from last year's race, but this finish was an excellent time...especially considering you stopped for pictures, chatting, and maybe even a spot of tea, lol! The vomit is just part of the memories now. Great race!!!

You sure did well considering! I'm impressed. Too bad you didn't better your time, but not every race works out well. Congratulations!
