Today was the day to turn left at every opportunity. =) I headed out the door wanting to go slow today to truly allow myself a recovery week. I know that I need to let myself rest, so my goal was to be between 10:00 and 10:30s for each mile. I knew that this would be hard, but I wanted to push myself to go slow.
I focused on form and could tell that I wanted to go fast as I caught myself leaning forward a couple of times. Each time, I pushed my glutes forward, reactivated my traverse abs and....ended up speeding up since I had the right form. Doh! But, I did keep the pace right around 10 (9:54 - 10:06 for all 6).
When I realized I was going to be going further than I expected (I can turn left a lot in my neighborhood!) I sped up. Then I realized that going faster wasn't going to make the distance shorter, it would just make it go faster. Yeah, I need coffee in the mornings to make sense. =)
Overall, really happy with the run and slowing down. I need to do this more and look forward to the challenge of running slowly.

Nice NASCAR 10K with no pileups, no caution flags, and no pitstops. :) Sounds like you made it into victory lane. Now go celebrate with some chocolate milk!
