Cut some time off of my marathon PR (3:32:43) so I can improve my chances of registering for Boston 2015. It's great to say I "BQ'd" but I want to say I ran it!

Workout was warmup, 3x10:00 at threshold pace with 2:00 recovery and a cooldown. Threshold pace is apparently around 10k pace. The last 10k I ran was Wine Cellar in 2012... My pace there (which was... read more

Slooow lonely run. I had to get it done early today because we were timing a race at 8am. Left the house at 5:00 when it was pitch black. Enjoyed the run but not the slow pace. Oh well!

Nice miles! Sometimes I think easy slow miles are good for us, or at least I hope so bc I've been running a lot of them. :)

I've also had a lot of slow runs lately. I think it's humidity! I've noticed on long runs late morning when the humidity starts to clear out I can breath/run better. Good job getting them in so early!

Bad day and even the run couldn't fix it. It was freaking hot again (91)! Saturday it will be cooler though. This was slow but it's just miles in the bank.

Ok. I finally found it. I was tired this AM and brain wasn't quite functioning. Anyway, all my paces seem kinda slow, so if I go that slow, I shouldn't feel bad, and if I go faster I should just feel good about it? And not try to come up with some crazy goal just bc I can run a bit quicker than suggested? I never had to worry about this when I was a part time runner. Lol

I'm guessing your pace is slow because of the recent race time you entered?? Especially if you used a recent marathon. (Not that I'm calling you slow :)) Maybe try a 5k time or just lie on the marathon time to get it closer to your goal time. It gives a large range for most of the steady runs so just try to be in that range. I use this loosely but I love it as a guide. I think most of the time we run too fast on our easy and long runs which is not important.

One option for a long run is to do a few miles in the middle at race pace on tired legs. That could be beneficial.
