    We've been having gorgeous weather here in Houston. Today was no exception - perfect day for a ride, and the 20-mile route was just the right distance.

    Plan was to sleep in today to rest up for tomorrow's charity ride. But my body has decided it prefers to start the day with a workout. Was at the gym for 8:30a. No complaints here tho :)

    Not as crowded as Tuesday's ride, which is nice. Estimated mileage. Careful not to push too hard so I don't over do it before Saturday's 20-mile ride (Tour de Houston).

      One trick: Monitor your heart rate while you work out. If your perceived effort is well above what your HR says it should be (it'll take a bit before you know what your normal is though), sometimes you can knock yourself out of the funk by jumping on a bike and doing some all out 1 minute sprints with 2 minutes easy spin in between to get your heart rate back into the game. Watch out cause that is also a sign of over-training.

    Pre-weight warm up on the StairMaster (speed intervals, level 10). Then core work, and arms, then hurried off to work. Daylight savings time kicked my butt this morning!
