alright Round Lake trail 5 mi 00:41 08:11 pace

Distance is approximate. My shin/calf felt great on the first half of this hilly, rugged trail run, but the second half was painful. It seems that the pain was associated with running down to the parking lot and up the sidewalk for a bit. When I was running in the really rough, hilly sections, things improved. Also, the pain went away fairly quickly after I stopped. I ran pretty quick, given the terrain, and was happy to feel some burn.

Odd that you'd feel better on the hilly parts. This whole leg issue must be very frustrating. I hope you get better soon. Wasn't it beautiful at the lake today?

It was perfect out there. The issue with uphill on the trail I think is because I have to be extremely delicate with my foot placement, which means far less impact. Seems to help.

Glad you are able to run the sections with less impact pain free; love the progress!

Solid pace Aric. Perhaps something related to the angle of your footfall?

There are about 6 miles of trails around the lake (called "Round Lake"), with many of them being very rugged, narrow, and hard to see. But it's a pretty popular place, too.
